Ruth's new leg prosthesis

Ruth's radiant smile is the result of a gift she received from us some time ago – a new leg prosthesis. Ruth has no memory of the accident that occurred when she was just nine months old. It is said that she was crawling on the clay floor of the kitchen, where her mother used to cook on the traditional stones and firewood. Ruth's leg caught fire, and her deaf mother couldn’t hear her screams. An aunt rushed in to save her. Ruth's entire leg was severely burned and never healed properly. At the age of 12, Ruth's leg was amputated. Two years later, she received a prosthetic leg – one of her happiest childhood memories. When we met Ruth, she was in great pain. She had been living with the same static wooden prosthesis for 23 years. Our team found a way to provide Ruth with a prosthesis that fits her properly. Thanks to your support! On the way home after the prosthetic fitting, Ruth was very quiet. I asked her how she was feeling. She answered with tears in her eyes: “I thought God had forgotten me. But now I know He never did.” After so many years, she can finally walk without pain.
