An Accessible Home for Renson

Updated: Nov 19

Renson, 37, has been in a wheelchair since 2020

Renson is 37 years old and sustained a severe back injury in 2020, which has since prevented him from walking, working, or taking care of himself. He has been reliant on a wheelchair ever since. Unfortunately, Renson has neither a home of his own nor family support, which further complicates his already difficult situation.

His current living situation presents a significant challenge: narrow doors, uneven pathways, and inaccessible rooms make daily life a tremendous burden for him. Despite these hardships, Renson remains determined to rebuild his life. He has started a small chicken business to support himself and create a sense of hope for the future.

Thanks to your generous support, Renson has now received his own piece of land. With the help of the organization He is the Remedy Africa, a wheelchair-accessible home will soon be built for him – a place where he can feel safe and comfortable, and that meets his needs.

A huge thank you to each and every one of you who has supported us on this journey – without you, none of this would have been possible!

Update November 2025:

Renson has now been living in his own wheelchair-accessible home for several months. For many people in Kenya, fetching water every day is part of daily life – but for Renson in a wheelchair, this was nearly impossible. Thanks to your support, we were able to install a water connection for him, giving him a new level of independence.
